It was with heavy hearts that we learned today that acclaimed and highly influential contemporary Inuit artist Annie Pootoogook is living on the streets of Ottawa with her partner, pregnant and selling sketches to get by. While the pair struggle to find housing Annie continues to do a drawing a day, which she sells to passers by for a meager $25 – $30 dollars.

Wow! That is so sad. Pootoogook is one my favorite artists. I really hope she get the help she needs.
