Reknown Canadian comic artist and former Montrealer Chester Brown will be in town this Saturday to launch his new book Paying For It: A Comic Strip Memoir About Being a John, chronicling his real life relations with 23 Toronto prostitutes and, among other things, advocating to legalize this age old trade and protect its workers.
To learn more about Chester and his process, check out the in depth “A John’s Gospel: The Chester Brown Interview” by Sean Rogers at The Comics Journal, and a recent Montreal Gazette interview with Ian McGillis.
Book Launch: Saturday May 13, 7pm, Librairie Drawn & Quarterly (211 Bernard O.).
