The Long Haul, an old shoulder pad factory in Parc Ex that was converted into artist spaces waaay back in 2001, is under threat due to, surprise surprise… cuts in government funding. This Saturday they will be holding their annual alphabet-themed group show/party, featuring a silent auction of works by current and alumni artists. There will also be a pop-up shop with affordable prints, jewelry, zines and other items. See some of the pieces that will be available, and read more about the event here: http://thelonghaulmontreal.blogspot.com

Traumstadtdenken (“Dream-City-Thinking”) is the first book by longtime Montreal comic artist and journalist Rupert Bottenberg. A stark, psychedelic collection in black & white, Traumstadtdenken combines comics and drawings from the last 10 years with a sizeable chunk of recent work to create a cohesive, if mind-bending, whole. Bottenberg will launch his new book, in conjunction with an exhibition of his silkscreen prints, at Le Cheval Blanc this weekend.
Exhibition: May 7-27, Le Cheval Blanc (809 Ontario E.) | Book Launch/Vernissage: May 12, 3pm – 8pm.
